FREE RANGE CHICKENS

chickens

This April we welcomed a brood of 100 chickens onto the farm.

We rear them in small groups with lots of outside space to roam, scratch and peck around in. This helps them gain the best nutrients for a healthier and natural diet. They are fed a certified feed and are slowly raised older than 10 months resulting in much larger, better tasting chickens than the average supermarket birds.

In the evening they are housed in large chicken huts in small groups of less than 50 birds. Allowing them lots of space but a safe hide away from the dangerous predators of the night.

Reducing Food Miles
We are currently building an area on the farm for all the poultry to be prepared, as it's important that our animals have the least food miles possible.
